About Savvy Tammy's Cleaning
A locally owned, women-owned cleaning company working the Morongo Basin since 2022. Founded by Tamara, insured and bonded, IJCSA certified, and built on the idea that a clean home is a health matter before it is a cosmetic one.
Why Tamara started this
Savvy Tammy’s Cleaning began in 2022, and the reason it exists is not really about cleaning.
Tamara spent years alongside her husband’s work as a first responder. That work gives you a particular view of homes: you see the ones where somebody got sick and nobody could say why, the ones where an asthmatic child lives with heavy fragrance in the air, the ones where a fall happened on a floor that should have been dealt with. It reframes cleaning as something closer to preventative health than housekeeping.
That is the reason non-toxic, low-fragrance products are our default rather than a premium tier we upsell. It is why the team carries IJCSA bloodborne pathogen and infection control certification rather than improvising when a job turns out to involve more than dust. And it is why we would rather tell a client that a surface is damaged than sell them a fourth clean chasing a result that was never available.
The business has grown from there into vacation rental turnovers across Joshua Tree, recurring housekeeping in Yucca Valley, PCS move-outs in Twentynine Palms and seasonal work in Palm Desert. The reasoning behind it has not changed.

Four things we do differently
Non-toxic by default
Every job, every service, no upcharge. Charging extra to not put harsh chemicals in someone's home has the logic backwards. It also matters practically, because most properties out here are on septic and many are on private wells.
We tell you what is not fixable
Etched glass, sun-faded finishes and stained old grout are damage, not dirt. You will hear that from us before you pay, not after the third visit that did not work.
Same team, every visit
On recurring plans you get the same people, so they learn your home and you stop re-explaining it. If we have to swap someone, we tell you beforehand rather than surprising you at the door.
We actually live here
We know what decomposed granite dust does to window tracks, what basin hard water does to shower glass, and that a house on five acres off a dirt road needs a different plan to one in the village.
Giving back is part of the business, not a footnote
Tamara built community work into this business from the start rather than adding it once there was spare margin. That includes supporting unhoused neighbours in the basin with essential supplies, and a longer term ambition to open a daycare and kids centre serving families across the Morongo Basin.
The Morongo Basin is a small place. The same people who hire us are the people we see at the store, and that shapes how we work more effectively than any policy document would.
Our promise
Reliability, quality, and honesty about what is achievable. If a clean falls short, tell us within 24 hours and we will come back and put it right. No contracts, no lock-ins, and no quiet price changes mid-season.
About us, answered
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes to both. Liability insurance means that if something is damaged while we are working, you are covered rather than negotiating. Bonding covers theft. For anyone handing over a key to a second home or a rental they are not living in, those two things matter more than the hourly rate.
What is the IJCSA certification?
The International Janitorial Cleaning Services Association provides training and certification for the cleaning industry. Ours covers bloodborne pathogen handling and infection control, which matters when a job turns out to involve more than dust. Most residential cleaners do not hold it.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2022, working the Morongo Basin throughout. We have grown from residential cleaning into vacation rental turnovers, move-outs and seasonal second-home work across Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Twentynine Palms and Palm Desert.
Do you use the same cleaners every visit?
On recurring plans, yes, wherever scheduling allows. Consistency is most of the value: the team learns your preferences, your pets and the parts of the house that actually get used. If someone is unavailable we tell you before we send a substitute.
Why are your products non-toxic as standard rather than an option?
Because the alternative means leaving chemical residue on surfaces children crawl on and pets lick, and volatile compounds in air the household breathes for hours afterwards. Charging a premium to avoid that seemed backwards. It is also necessary here, since caustic products damage the septic systems most local properties run on.
Do you serve areas outside the four cities listed?
Landers, Pioneertown, Morongo Valley, Flamingo Heights and Wonder Valley are all within normal range, and we run into the wider Coachella Valley for larger jobs. If you are unsure whether we reach your road, call and ask rather than assuming we do not.
